Are you an engineer of the future?
Engineers make a difference in the world through constantly developing new products and improving existing ones. Without engineers designing and planning how to make things, nothing would be made at all!
Engineering is a perfect career for anyone if you are curious by nature, enjoy puzzling things out and taking things to pieces to fix them. There are different types of engineer, and these require different skills – so whether you like maths, physics, chemistry, resistance materials there’s something in engineering to suit you.

Engineering is a very broad term and includes roles in:
- Computer-aided design (‘CAD’), designing & developing technical drawings
- Manual machining skills – Transforming metal and other raw materials into components using milling, turning and grinding
- Computer controlled machining - CNC (Computer Numerical Control)
- Fabrication and welding
- Mechanical engineering
- Computer programming and automating different parts of manufacturing processes
- 3D printing (additive manufacturing) to make products
